Our generous volunteers are at the heart of Really Care, from helping with organisation and admin behind the scenes to visiting older people in need of support.

Volunteers are of all ages, and they get as much out of volunteering as those they help. They gain new friendships and the satisfaction of knowing they are making a vital, caring contribution to their local community.

What's involved

There are several ways in which volunteers can support Really Care in helping older people in our community – and every role is important as any other. Some of the work of volunteers may include:

  • helping with admin to ensure everything we do runs smoothly and nobody is left alone
  • organising or supporting events to bring the community together
  • regularly visiting an older person in need of support through our matching scheme
    • speaking up as advocates, especially at times of illness and vulnerability when the older person’s ‘voice’ may be weakened

Whatever your availability and particular skills, we'll seek to find how you can best contribute to the charity's work.

Training

All our volunteers will be trained and certificated as necessary for the particular role you will you filling. That way, everyone involved will feel confident, safe and prepared about the exciting partnership ahead!
