Through our mentorship academy we aim to break the cycle of loneliness in Kimbolton and beyond Embark on a journey of self exploration and learning, gaining access to the years of life experience for the older members of the community. Whilst in turn offering an older member of the community befriendment and a more joyful life. Our reflective life guidance course offers volunteers the structured support and training to make a real difference in combatting loneliness in the Kimbolton area. Your journey will start with a month long reflective guidance training, before being paired with an older member of the community. Once paired with an older member of the community we will continue to be at your side, guiding you through the course and helping you both to take as much as possible from the experience. We are here to help. Don't have an idea, not a problem Really Care has a library of video content on a range of topics that an event can be planned around with ease. Ultimately the aim is to bring the community together and help end loneliness and isolation one event at a time. Start planning your event Share your wisdom In an age of digital interaction and social media we have found ourselves removed from reality and in a position where the older generation find themselves even further removed. The time has come to use this to our advantage, do you have a passion that you want to share with the community. Capture this passion on video, and submit it to the Really Care library and help bring the community together through social interaction and learning. Share your wisdom Volunteer Our generous volunteers are at the heart of Really Care, in return for your assistance in helping to organise our events, behind the scenes admin tasks and befriending home visits, we will give you access to new skills, incredible knowledge and a chance to befriend someone in your community that could really use a kind face and warm heart. Volunteers can be of all ages and have the opportunity to help others whilst learning new skills. Gain new friendships, the satisfaction of knowing you are making a vital, caring contribution to the local community all whilst learning from those around you. Volunteer What's involved There are so many ways in which volunteers can support Really Care in helping older people in our community – and every role is as important as any other. Some of the work of volunteers may include: Helping with the behind the scenes admin and logistics to ensure everything we do runs smoothly and everybody is well informed at all times. Organisation of our interaction and knowledge events. Regular visiting of an older person in need of support through the matching scheme.
