Our Story Sharing wisdom in local communities. In an ever-changing, evolving world, could words from the past help others in the future? Founded in 2017 by Yvonne Latchford, a former registered nurse, midwife and health visitor who worked for the NHS for 23 years until her early retirement due to Parkinson’s Disease. Yvonne is not content in letting her life experience, and knowledge go to waste, hence the beginning of Really Care. It is a foundation focused on assisting older people to tell their story in order to help future generations learn from these experiences and life skills. Really Care enhances the lives of many older people in bringing purpose and enabling them to make an even more valuable contribution. Our Vision Throughout our lives, we are chosen on the experience we have to do a task or the knowledge we hold to assist others. Why then are we not harnessing this talent from those who have the most to give? Our older generation’s life experiences are the key to unlocking knowledge and skills for others to benefit and learn from. Our aim is to bring communities together, working with older people to rediscover what they Really Care about so they can assist younger generations in learning new skills and knowledge. This in turn will create the conditions for caring relationships in our communities. Sign up for Support Train to be a Really Care Life Guide
